This scripture rings true at our house. Each night we gather to read scriptures and pray. With five small children this is can be very "weary". However, little by little we have made progress. It has taken us almost a year, but with just a few verses each night we have finished reading the Book of Mormon. It has been fun to see the kids progress in this tradition. As we take turns reading, Jared insists on "reading". He starts everything he says with "And it came to pass," and then he would tell us in his own words a story from the scriptures. The brother of Jared is his favorite. He refers to the story as "The brother of Me." Even Mijken needs her own set of scriptures. It seemed each night we made very small progress but we have accomplished a great goal! After we finished Mark asked what do we do now that we are done. Madison enthusiastically replied, "We start over!" And we did, the next night. However, Monday night we all went to cold stone for ice cream to celebrate.

I'm impressed. Things are a little different in our house. A couple of years ago when Zac and I were cleaning his bookcase I pulled out the picture Book of Mormon and he said to me "You can toss that one out we don't read it." Way to go Guys!

as a family, we started when braden left on his mission though. we are just a tad bit slower than you guys!
the kids have read it over and over again on their own though.
scripture reading brings blessings. i can attest for it.
H you are so hilarious...however, we of course aren't any better. I remember when Marshall was a baby we needed to level his crib so Ryan used our Book of Mormon to level the crib, "No better use" he said. Sorry, mom I know that you are reading and we are all (except Amber) such a disappointment. Hey, you can look on the bright side...we all still love you!!
Great accomplishment though Amber, I really believe a goal set as a family and accomplished as a family is a great thing. It builds character and strength. Kudos!!
